Critical Investigation Discussion

Have Hollywood attitudes towards content in 12A films become more liberal or have audiences’ film desires changed?
We came up with some 12A films such as 'Fast and furious 6','Skyfall', 'Twilight saga' and etc. These films contain less content to a 15 or 18 film however some of the films that are 12A nowadays have more content which would usually be in a 15 certificate film. We reckon the film industry do this to attract a wider audience which increases the films benefits. Over the 19 century films used to be classified appropriately as the older audience would find their children to watch an appropriate film suitable for the.
However as the modern 21st century the film industry has changed dramatically as their are now many violence, sexual scenes or horror shown in 12A films which is successful as a wider audience is attracted to this, although younger audiences watch these films unattended by an adult, the elder audience may find it offence for their child to watch the film which is negative as they would feel unreliable with the certificates of a film. We discussed ways of how this critical investigation could link to a production piece, we suggested by creating a short film which is classified 12A or a documentary about 12A films and the film industry talking about how it has changed throughout the years.
Furthermore in our latest group discussion we found out that, our prediction of 12A films has changed due to money was right, as we read an example of the critical investigation, telling us the cause of film industry to change is to attract an wide audience making them popular and beneficial to the company. There were few theories involved in the investigation which we did not come up with therefore this was something new we learnt and added to the group discussion.
